Abstract

The Family Hope Program (PKH) is an Indonesian government program to improve the welfare of poor families. The effectiveness of this program is strongly influenced by the participation of grassroots women. This study aims to examine the leadership of grassroots women in the PKH program in Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan, as part of efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation during monthly assistance activities for PKH Beneficiary Families through P2K2 activities in Lumar District, Bengkayang Regency. The research subjects were grassroots women involved in leadership in the PKH program. The results showed that grassroots women have an important role in the socialization and dissemination of PKH information, assisting beneficiary families, organizing groups, and advocacy and mediation. Personal characteristics such as caring, empathy, good communication skills, and a strong commitment to the community are important assets for the effectiveness of their leadership. Social support from family, community, and government is also crucial.
