Abstract

These research aims to conduct a systematic bibliometric analysis of scientific publications indexed in the Scopus database, focusing on institutional design and governance of cultural heritage areas in Indonesia. By analyzing literature published between 2020 and 2025, this study uses R Studio and Biblioshiny as analytical tools to identify trends in thematic development, dominant academic actors, and potential for cross-institutional collaboration. The results of the study show that this field is a rapidly developing area of study, marked by a significant increase in the number of publications and a multidisciplinary thematic focus. However, visibility and citation impact are still moderate, with relatively limited international collaboration. This study also reveals a shift in focus toward a more human-centered and contextual approach, while maintaining the relevance of institutional frameworks and theories as a conceptual foundation. These findings provide a strong empirical basis for academics and practitioners in developing future research agendas and designing more targeted and sustainable governance strategies for the preservation of cultural heritage in Indonesia.
