Abstract

Jujun Village is one of the villages in Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province, situated in an agricultural area on the edge of Lake Kerinci. Along the Kerinci lake, there are many paitan weeds (Tithonia diversifolia) that can be used as a source of compost for organic fertilizers, especially for vegetables, which are commonly used to meet family needs and improve the family economy. The partners of this activity are the Jujun Village PKK women's group, through counseling, discussions, training, demonstrations, demonstration plots, and assistance with the manufacture and application of paitan compost in vegetable cultivation based on polyculture planting patterns. The results of this activity aim to meet the needs and improve the family's economic situation. The results of the PPM program for the Application of Science and Technology of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Jambi, are methods and products: (1) Obtaining knowledge of how to make paitan compost fertilizer as a helpful weed on a household scale that can be used by the community; (2) Obtaining quality plant products of various kinds of vegetables; (3) Obtaining techniques for making paitan compost and its application in vegetable cultivation in polyculture and making packaging to be marketable (4) Marketing management of production products.
