Kajian visual tugu Angso Duo Jambi Kota Seberang

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the visual style of the Tugu Angso Duo monument located in Jambi Kota Seberang, Pelayangan District, Jambi City. The research focuses on the visual analysis of the ornamental form style found in the angso (goose) visual object. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method, consisting of four stages: description, formal analysis, interpretation, and evaluation, using E.B. Feldman’s approach. This approach outlines four stages of visual analysis that allow for the interpretation and assessment of visual artworks beginning with description, followed by formal analysis, interpretation, and evaluation. The findings reveal that a realist visual style is applied to the Tugu Angso Duo monument in Jambi Kota Seberang, Pelayangan District. The presence of this monument also represents an effort to introduce and preserve the collective memory of the Jambi community through the Angso Duo folklore, which is deeply rooted in the cultural identity of Jambi. The study recommends adding informative elements such as infographics about the historical background of the Tugu Angso Duo in Jambi Kota Seberang, Pelayangan District. This effort aims to provide public insight through concise and engaging information while simultaneously promoting the collective memory of the Jambi people to a broader audience.
