The Effect of Health Education on Scabies Prevention toward Student’s Knowledge and Preventive Behavior at Nurussa’adatain Gonjong Islamic Boarding School

Scabies is a skin disease that is rapidly transmitted and neglected. This study aims to determine the effect of health education on the prevention of scabies toward student’s knowledge and behavior at the Nurussa'adatain Gonjong Islamic Boarding School. This type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design using pretest-posttest. The population in this study was 110 people, and a sample of 52 people was taken purposively. The research instrument used a questionnaire and data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the average value of the level of knowledge before education was 10.21, increasing to 12.32 after education. While the average value of behavior increased from 11.51 to 14.42. The results of the statistical test showed a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05), which means that there is a significant effect of health education on increasing the knowledge and behavior of students in preventing scabies.
