About the Journal

ESSI (Electrical, Signals, and Systemic Intelligence) is a high-quality, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Electrical Engineering Study Program, Universitas Jambi. Published biannually in May and December, the journal serves as a global forum for researchers, academicians, and practitioners to share innovative, high-impact research across the broad fields of electrical engineering and intelligent systems.

As a full English-language publication, ESSI is dedicated to documenting the evolution of electrical technology—bridging the gap between fundamental electrical theories and cutting-edge computational breakthroughs. We emphasize technical rigor, original contribution, and practical significance in every published manuscript.

Focus and Scope

The journal invites original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and technical notes that encompass (but are not limited to) the following core areas:

  • Electrical Power & Energy Systems: Focuses on power electronics, renewable energy integration, smart grid technologies, power system stability, electrical machines, and high-voltage engineering.

  • Signals, Systems & Communications: Covers advanced digital signal processing, wireless and wired communication networks, information theory, antenna design, and Internet of Things (IoT) frameworks.

  • Systemic Intelligence & Biomedical Engineering: Explores the synergy between Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and autonomous systems, alongside innovations in bio-electronics, medical instrumentation, and intelligent healthcare monitoring.

  • Electronics & Interdisciplinary Applications: Includes VLSI design, embedded systems, sensor technologies, and the application of electrical engineering principles in diverse interdisciplinary fields.

  • Computer & Network Engineering: Addresses computer architecture, cloud computing, network security, distributed systems, and hardware-software co-design.

Peer Review Process

To maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, ESSI employs a double-blind peer review process. Each submission is initially screened for scope relevance and similarity (plagiarism check) before being evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.

Publication Ethics

ESSI is committed to the highest ethical standards in publishing. Our policies are aligned with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability in all editorial decisions.
