Use of AI Statement

The editorial board of Jurnal Kesmas Jambi (JKMJ) recognizes the increasing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic writing and research. To ensure transparency, accountability, and academic integrity, the following policy outlines the acceptable use of AI technologies in manuscript preparation and submission.

1. Permitted Uses of AI Tools

Authors are allowed to use AI-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, DeepL, etc.) only for the following purposes:

  1. Language editing (grammar, spelling, and syntax correction).
  2. Paraphrasing and clarity enhancement of non-technical or descriptive text.
  3. Translation from one language to another.
  4. Formatting support for references, citations, and layout.
  5. Assisting in code generation or debugging, if applicable, with proper verification by the author.

2. Prohibited Uses of AI Tools

The use of AI is strictly prohibited in the following areas:

  1. Generating original scientific content, including hypotheses, methodologies, results, or conclusions.
  2. Drafting the abstract, discussion, or conclusion without substantial human input.
  3. Producing or manipulating research data, tables, or figures.
  4. Generating citations, references, or bibliographic data that are not manually verified.
  5. Submitting AI-generated full manuscripts without disclosure and critical review by the author(s).

3. Authorship and Responsibility

AI tools cannot be credited as authors. All content created or assisted by AI must be thoroughly reviewed, edited, and approved by the listed authors. The authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and scholarly integrity of the manuscript.

4. Editorial Screening and Ethics Compliance

JKMJ reserves the right to screen manuscripts using AI-detection tools to verify compliance. Failure to disclose AI usage, or evidence of unethical use, may lead to:

  1. Manuscript rejection.
  2. Request for revision.
  3. Further investigation in accordance with publication ethics.
