Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Scientific Writing Process

In the interest of maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, research ethics, and transparency, authors are required to disclose any use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) or AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of their manuscripts. If such tools have been employed, a clear and specific declaration must be included in the manuscript. The declaration should state the name of the tool/service used, the purpose for which it was employed, and an acknowledgment that the authors take full responsibility for the final content of the work. The recommended wording is as follows:

“During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) utilized [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] for the purpose of [SPECIFY: e.g., grammar checking, language editing, or data visualization]. The author(s) reviewed and revised the content thoroughly, and assume full responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the published article.”

Please note:

  • The use of AI or AI-assisted technologies is permitted only as a supporting tool (e.g., for language polishing or editorial assistance).
  • AI tools must not be credited as authors or co-authors, as they cannot take responsibility for the integrity of the work.
  • If no AI or AI-assisted technologies were used in the preparation of the manuscript, no declaration is required.

This policy aligns with best practices recommended by major publishing standards (e.g., COPE and  Elsevier), ensuring that the published work remains a product of scholarly rigor and human academic responsibility.
